Suriana (Suria) Nordin

Suriana Nordin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an accounting degree and is currently practicing as a CPA (certified public accountant) with a public accounting firm. Her focus is on international tax and she has been doing it for over 20 years. After she got injured from a spinal cord injury (SCI), living with quadriplegia, she continued working in the same role but on a part-time basis. Her husband and she created a company called SunKirb Ideas that provides consultation with respect to setting up smart homes for people with special needs.

She has been involved on the advisory committee of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF). She has also volunteered to assist in various training programs such as Health Mentor Program with Thomas Jefferson University, Interprofessional Experience with University of the Sciences, clinical trials with Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Employment-Related Telephone Intervention for Pain Study (E-TIPS) with University of Washington, work with PT grad students at Widener University, Arcadia PT student labs with Magee Hospital. She has also been involved with educating Philadelphia high school students with respect to disability and living life with a disability.
