Rory Cooper, PhD is Founder and Director of HERL, and FISA & PVA Distinguished Professor of SHRS, and professor of Bioengineering, and Physical Med & Rehab at Pitt. Dr. Cooper is also a VA Senior Career Scientist at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Dr. Cooper has led or been involved in many NIDILRR-funded projects for over 25-years. He has been an author on over 375 peer-reviewed journal publications, and an inventor on over 30 patents awarded or pending. Dr. Cooper is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, as well as RESNA, IEEE, AAAS, AIMBE, and BMES. Dr. Cooper has extensive expertise in many areas of AT and technology innovation.
